At R. Betts Construction Ltd, we are proud to have established ourselves as a Reinforced Concrete and Precast Installation Specialist throughout the industry since our inception in 1973. Our team, based in the North West of England, has worked on projects spanning across Scotland, North East, North Wales, Wales, Midlands, South Wales, Yorkshire, Lancaster, and as far south as Hertfordshire, Gloucestershire, and London.

Our long-standing, proactive, and responsive management team possess a wealth of knowledge in all aspects associated with reinforced concrete construction. We take pride in the standard of contract management we provide to all the projects we undertake, ensuring complete service delivery every time. Regardless of the size of the contract, each site will have regular visits by one of our company's Directors.

Services Offered

We provide all aspects of reinforced concrete construction for the building and civil engineering industry. Our services can be tailored to suit our clients' needs, from full labour, plant, and materials to labour and temporary materials, or even a labour-only basis. Our Site Managers hold a range of qualifications including NEBOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS, SEAT, and APPOINTED PERSONS.

Our Expertise

Over the years, we have developed a strong reputation for completing projects safely, on time, to budget, and with outstanding workmanship. Our expertise spans across various sectors including Highways, Waste, Rail, Water, and Schools, with a focus on Precast Concrete installation.

In the Highways sector, we recently completed the long-awaited Caernarfon Bypass for Balfour Beatty, Jones Brothers JV. The contract involved installing Precast Beams, the construction of Four Underpasses, and Seven bridges, with the largest being Afon Gwyrfai Viaduct, 250 meters long, and Pont Afon Newydd, which was 180 meters long.

In the Waste sector, we have worked on several projects including the BDR Waste Facility for Balfour Beatty, contracts with Barhale, Bovis Landlease, and three separate projects for the Greater Manchester Waste project for Costain Ltd.

In the Rail sector, we have worked in partnership with Costain on the H2M6 Link Road, Folly Railway Bridge over the West Coast Mainline, which consisted of 5000m3 of concrete, 5850m2 of formwork, and 770 tonnes of reinforcement. Past partnerships have included Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, and Galiford Try.

In the Water sector, we have worked alongside the market leader in the installation of Pre-stressed & Post-tensioned Concrete Storage Tanks in the UK. Clients include C2V, Eric Wright (United Utilities), Barhale (Severn Trent Water), and Eight 2 Zero (Thames Water).

In the Schools sector, we have worked on projects including Ormiston Sir Stanley Mathews Academy, North Liverpool Academy, SFX College, Cheetham Hill School, Bradford Challenge School, and Sir Graham Balfour School.
