Supporting adults with learning disabilities, one plant at a time.
About Us
Set in the beautiful Elham Valley, within easy reach of Canterbury and Folkestone, The Fifth Trust Vineyard has plenty to offer. Our garden centre and cafe are owned by The Fifth Trust charity and were set up to provide additional funding for our skills centres and to create work opportunities for our adult students with learning disabilities.
On weekdays, students work alongside staff at the Vineyard and in the local community tending plant stocks in our propagation unit, growing fruit and vegetables to supply the cafe, baking cakes, making chutneys, serving customers, and delivering logs mowing lawns, handcrafting benches and log stores. Some of the imaginative creative work they produce during activity sessions is offered for sale at the Vineyard and you will always find a great selection to choose from including ceramics, cards, needlework, artwork and bird boxes.
