Nathan Millar Furniture is a bespoke furniture design and creation business based in the historic silk town of Macclesfield, Cheshire. Established by Nathan Millar in early 2015, the company has quickly gained a reputation for creating unique and high-quality pieces of furniture that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design.

Our Approach to Furniture Making

At Nathan Millar Furniture, we take a hands-on approach to furniture making, from the initial concept to the final polish. Every piece of furniture is designed, handcrafted, and finished in-house, ensuring that each item is of the highest quality and tailored to the individual's specifications.

Our Design Philosophy

Our design philosophy is centered on creating furniture that is both functional and beautiful. We strive to design pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also demonstrate a deep understanding of the wood itself. Sourcing Materials

We are committed to sourcing materials locally whenever possible, with 80% of our timber coming from within a 50-mile radius of our workshop. We also work closely with local sawmills and tree surgeons to obtain top-quality timber for our pieces.

Sustainability

As a responsible business, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact. We achieve this by reducing our carbon footprint through energy-efficient processes and by reusing and recycling offcuts and waste. Additionally, we use beeswax polish made from local beeswax, reducing our reliance on synthetic materials.
