Established in 1990, our company has evolved to encompass all aspects of historic building restoration and repair, with a special focus on traditional roofing styles found in Cornwall and Devon. We take great pride in our expertise in wet and dry laid scantle slate roofing, rag slate roofing, slate hanging, and slate flooring, as well as our portfolio of lime plaster, lime mortars, and decorative mouldings, stonemasonry, and traditional timber joinery.

Over the years, we have developed a reputation as specialists in building conservation and preservation throughout the South West. Our expertise has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Cornwall Buildings Group award for the restoration of a 15th century listed farmhouse. Our projects have been featured in prominent publications such as Grand Designs Magazine, Period House, The Daily Telegraph, and BBC Spotlight. Our founder, Gavin Hickson, has worked as a building consultant for the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, the Duchy of Cornwall, English Heritage, and regularly lectures at Plymouth University on architectural conservation.
