Our Commitment
Voland Roofing is committed to providing a professional and high-quality service that our clients have come to expect, striving to achieve perfect delivery while also recognising the need for cost-effective and time-efficient solutions.
Asphalt
Asphalt was once the only material laid by Voland, but with the decrease in demand, it led to our name change in 2008. Often overlooked because of the range of modern materials available, asphalt provides robust and durable waterproofing which has been proved to stand the test of time. Often used in walkway/balcony scenarios, there are a range of materials which can be used above waterproofing to create a usable outdoor space such as paving slabs or tiles.
Built-Up Felt
The continued advancement of manufacturing practices and technology means that built-up felt remains a popular choice for waterproofing. Voland Roofing has installed the commonly used three-layer waterproofing system since 1976. Installation methods have changed in recent years, eliminating the need for the use of hot bitumen and therefore improving health and safety practices. The bituminous-based sheets, reinforced with either polyester or glass fibre, also have increased elasticity and strength due to the addition of APP or SBS polymer molecules. Because of its robust nature, the product is suitable for use in a variety of situations including green roofing and terraces (incorporating paving slabs, ballast, or timber decking).
Hot Melt
This robust structural waterproofing system is perfect for areas that will be heavily trafficked such as podium decks or plazas. Inverted insulation along with hard landscaping materials or intensive green roof finishes can be utilised to turn the roof area into fully usable space. Hot melt systems are generally expected to last for the design life of the building.
Single Ply
Voland Roofing offers a variety of premier single ply systems. This lightweight, fast-track, and flame-free membrane is especially popular on new builds where loading and aesthetics are key. Standing seam profiles can be utilised to improve appearance. The membranes are typically bonded or mechanically fixed with the laps heat welded. The hot air weld forms a monolithic seam, this coupled with high elasticity/tensile strength proves to be a robust waterproofing solution. PVC & TPO membranes are both available.
Green Roofing
With an ever-growing emphasis placed on green and environmentally sound construction techniques, green roofing is one of the most popular and commonly used solutions. Voland Roofing has vast experience installing biodiversity, extensive, and intensive green roofing systems using a variety of waterproofing solutions. Voland Roofing utilises green roofing products to create both low-maintenance green habitats and recreational rooftop gardens. By increasing habitats for wildlife, decreasing water run-off, improving air quality, and reducing the urban heat island effect, green roofs undoubtedly have a positive effect on the environment. These points, coupled with the improved aesthetic appearance of the roof area, make green roofing a very attractive, environmentally friendly solution.
