Our Story
Harworth Electrical Limited, a family-run business with over 50 years of experience in the electrical industry, was founded by Mr. M. S. Parker in 1967. With a lifelong dedication to electrical engineering, Mr. Parker gained extensive experience in the industry, starting with a petrol station and later using his electrical installation knowledge from coal mining. This expertise has been passed on to the current directors, his son and daughter, Dave and Sue. Dave, with 30 years of experience, personally supervises all works undertaken by our highly trained electricians, while Sue manages the office, dealing with NICEIC inspection and testing, as well as all administration.
Our Services
At Harworth Electrical, we pride ourselves on being a complete electrical contracting service, offering a wide range of services to cater to various industries, including industrial, quarrying, retail, and commercial. Our team of highly trained electricians is equipped to handle a variety of tasks, from electrical installations to testing and maintenance. We work closely with our clients to ensure that all their electrical needs are met.
Industrial and Quarrying
We have extensive experience in maintaining various local quarries and have gained a good understanding of motor control equipment from this work, including emergency stop circuits, pull wires, and conveyors. Our expertise also extends to thermal imaging tests, which involve scanning electrical equipment for defects and providing detailed reports.
Retail
With our roots in the petrol industry, we have honed our skills in re-pumping, shop refits, and re-imaging petrol stations, including the replacement of canopy lights and floodlights. We have recently carried out cafe installations and refurbishments, including Derby University and the Museum of Industry at Manchester.
Commercial
Our portfolio includes various works on schools, council buildings, and local authorities, including rebuilds, alterations, extensions, rewires, new fire and intruder alarms, data and telecom installations, and testing. We also carry out annual electrical inspection regimes for local authorities and emergency services.
Testing
All our electricians are trained to the 17th Edition and 4 have BS2391, the standard for testing. We have maintained various testing contracts over the years, including testing schools in Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw area, as well as managing a national testing contract for 500 petrol stations incorporating the petrol test for the Petroleum Licence.
Thermal Imaging Test
We conduct 6-monthly thermal imaging checks for local factories, producing comprehensive reports on thermal and electrical defects, rated by degree of urgency. Sample reports and quotations are available upon request.
NRG Lighting Controller
We have developed various lighting controllers, including our earlier versions for idle classrooms, which turn off lights after 10 minutes of inactivity. Our latest version, the NRG5 unit, has been installed in various petrol stations across the UK. We also install other manufacturers' controls and commission and test them.
