Transforming Your House into a Home

Ian Allston Tree Surgery Ltd is a family-run business with a rich history dating back to 1972. We are a team of experienced and qualified arboriculturists dedicated to providing a professional and personal tree surgery service throughout Essex and Suffolk. With over 40 years of experience, our company has seen and worked through many changes in technology and science in the industry.

Company History

Our company was founded by Ian Allston in 1972, and he has been at the helm ever since. Ian has a vast amount of experience in arboriculture, having worked through many challenges and changes in the industry. Over the years, Ian has seen and worked through the devastating effects of the Dutch Elm Disease in the 1970s, the hurricanes of 1987 and 1990, and more recently, diseases affecting species such as Oak, Horse Chestnut, and Sycamore.

Our Staff

In 1998, Ian's son, Marcus Allston, joined the business and is now an integral part of the daily running of the company. Marcus works closely with the staff, many of whom have been employed by the company for up to 29 years. Our staff are fully qualified and insured, with Public and Property Insurance cover for 10 million. We also operate two Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, with qualified staff to operate them.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of tree surgery services, including:

Tree Felling

There are numerous reasons for felling a tree, including when it has become infected, weak, or becomes a danger to property or people, or is in an unsuitable area that affects construction plans. Our team of experienced and qualified arboriculturists will carry out the felling of the tree safely and professionally.

Crown Reduction and Shaping

This is often carried out when a tree has grown such that it is encroaching in space it shouldn't be. We can reduce the size of the tree, using specialized equipment and techniques to minimize stress and prevent damage to the surrounding area.

Crown Lifting and Thinning

Crown lifting is required when the lower branches and limbs of a tree are obstructing an area below where they overhang, for example, a public footpath or highway. We can lift the overall height of the crown of the tree, and when crown thinning is undertaken, it allows for better circulation of light and air through the tree.

Stump Grinding and Removal

Once a tree has been felled, it is often necessary to grind and remove the resulting stump. We can grind the stump to a specified depth, using specialized equipment, and also provide advice on how to prevent re-growth.

Our Guarantee

At Ian Allston Tree Surgery Ltd, we take pride in our work and strive to provide a professional service to all our customers. We are fully insured and have Public and Property Insurance cover for 10 million. We operate a "no obligation" free quotation service, and our team of fully qualified and insured staff will carry out all our services to the highest standard.

Our Testimonials

We are proud of the reputation we have built over the years and have received numerous testimonials from satisfied customers. We believe in providing a personal and professional service, and our customers appreciate the attention to detail and care shown by our team.
