Delvendahl Martin Architects is a pioneering practice that has been shaping the built environment since its inception in 2009. Over the years, we have honed a unique approach to architecture that is driven by a deep understanding of the complexities of human, environmental, and historical contexts. Our diverse portfolio of projects reflects our willingness to engage with a wide range of scales, typologies, and disciplines, from small-scale installations to master planning and from private houses to regeneration projects.
At Delvendahl Martin Architects, we believe that architecture is an integral part of a broader cultural condition. Our design process is rooted in an in-depth understanding of the social, environmental, and historical factors that shape our surroundings. This nuanced approach has led to a strong track record of delivering projects that are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally effective. Our clients become an integral part of this process, and we work closely with them to develop projects that meet their needs and aspirations.
One of the defining characteristics of our practice is our willingness to take on a wide range of projects, from exhibitions and installations to residential and commercial developments. This reflects our commitment to maintaining a diverse and dynamic portfolio that allows us to push the boundaries of our creative vision. Recent examples of our work include the fit-out of the ground floor commercial space of a series of residential blocks at Royal Albert Wharf, which provides flexible and adaptable workspaces for up to 50 artists, and the comprehensive refurbishment of the Grade II former Credit Lyonnais headquarters at 30 Cannon Street, which involved the reconstruction of the 5th floor, a new roof terrace, and the refurbishment of the entrance lobby.
In addition to our built projects, we have also had the privilege of working on several high-profile exhibitions and installations. These have included collaborations with artists such as Carsten Holler, with whom we worked on a site-specific installation for the Hayward Gallery and a subsequent exhibition at Pirelli HangarBiccoca, Milan, and the Henie Onstad Sanatorium in Oslo. We have also designed exhibitions for the Tate Modern, the Hayward Gallery, and the Gwangju Biennale, and have been appointed as exhibition designers for the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2019, curated by Ralph Rugoff.
