Our Story
Founded by Simon Nicholl in 2009, our company has grown to become a respected name in the world of bespoke furniture making. Simon's passion for art and design led him to study Illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University, followed by cabinet making at London Metropolitan University. With a strong foundation in education, Simon gained valuable experience working alongside experienced cabinet maker Geoffrey Rowe before launching S. Nicholl Furniture.
In 2022, we launched a new division of the company, Whitwell Sawmill, a small local wood yard and sawmill specializing in kiln-dried locally sourced timber. This enables us to source high-quality, sustainable materials for our bespoke furniture, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting local businesses.
