At Smiths Orchard Garden Centre, we are a family-run business that has been in operation for over 80 years. We take great pride in being one of the first garden centres to open in the country. Our centre is spread over 2.5 acres, featuring a large outdoor plant area, indoor covered areas for furniture and garden products, a spacious gift department, and a charming cafe.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services to cater to all your gardening needs. Our plant area is stocked with a vast selection of plants, trees, and shrubs, all sourced from local growers. Our knowledgeable staff, including our Plants Manager, Martin, who is a seasoned plantsman of high regard, and our General Manager, Bill, who has a lifetime of experience in garden centres, are always happy to help and answer any questions you may have.
In addition to our plant area, we also offer a variety of garden tools, including Wilkinson Sword, Wolf Tools, Yeoman, and Joseph Bentley. Our gift department is stocked with a wide range of items, making it the perfect place to find a gift for friends and family.
Orchard Cafe
Take a break from shopping and relax in our charming Orchard Cafe, where you can enjoy a hot meal or a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. Our cafe is open from 10:30 am to 3 pm, serving hot food from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Our Staff
Our friendly and experienced staff are always on hand to help and direct you around the centre. Our staff have extensive knowledge of gardening, including ponds, garden furniture, pest control, and soil management.
Location and Opening Hours
We are conveniently located at 70 Chadwell Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 5SY. Our centre is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sundays.
