Our History

Fosters Chartered Surveyors was established by Dominic Foster MRICS, who has been an active participant in the local residential property market since 1987. Beginning his career at Henry Spencer & Sons estate agents after leaving school, Dominic's commitment to the industry led him to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor in 1997. Subsequent to this, he honed his skills at several prominent firms in the region, including Mark Jenkinson & son and Eadon Lockwood & Riddle.

Dominic's extensive experience and in-depth understanding of the South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, and North Nottinghamshire property markets form the bedrock of Fosters Surveyors' ongoing success. Dedicated to delivering high-quality advice on all facets of residential property, Dominic strives to provide a personal, friendly, and efficient service to each client. Fosters Surveyors' small-practice structure allows for personalized attention, ensuring that every client's needs are met with utmost care and consideration.

Operating with Transparency & Affordability

As a small, independently operated practice, Fosters Surveyors benefits from low overheads. This cost-saving advantage translates directly into competitive pricing for clients, who can rely on transparent and affordable service without compromising on quality. Furthermore, the firm's non-VAT registered status allows for further cost reductions that are passed directly onto clients.

Our Services: Providing Comprehensive Property Solutions

Fosters Surveyors offers a comprehensive range of services designed to cater to the diverse needs of residential property buyers and sellers. Our expertise encompasses:

  • RICS Homebuyer Surveys (Level 2 & Level 3): Recognized as a cost-effective method of mitigating risk, the RICS Homebuyer Survey provides buyers with a detailed assessment of a property's condition. The Level 2 survey, the most popular choice, delivers a comprehensive report covering the building's structure, interior, and key systems, enabling buyers to make informed decisions about their purchase. The Level 3 survey, also known as the Building Survey, offers a deeper dive into a property's condition and is recommended for older properties or those requiring significant repairs.
  • Building Surveys:

Designed for buyers seeking a thorough examination of a property's condition, the Building Survey provides a detailed report outlining the building's structural integrity, systems, and potential defects. This comprehensive assessment is particularly valuable for older properties, those with modifications, or properties requiring significant investment.

  • Valuations: Fosters Surveyors provides written valuations for a variety of purposes, including probate, matrimonial disputes, division of assets, tax planning, and expert witness testimony. Our valuations are conducted by qualified and experienced Chartered Surveyors, adhering to the highest industry standards and ensuring accuracy and impartiality.

Regulatory Compliance & Professional Standards

Fosters Surveyors is fully qualified as Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuers with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This prestigious membership signifies our commitment to upholding the RICS Code of Conduct and adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards. Furthermore, our activities are subject to RICS regulation, guaranteeing that our work meets the industry's stringent requirements.
