Emery Brothers

Emery Brothers Ltd is a family-owned Bath-based contractor with a rich history dating back to 1947. Established by George, Lewis, and Brian, the original Emery brothers, the company has since been passed down through generations. Today, it is owned and operated by Julian and Simon, the 3rd generation of the Emery family. With over 75 years of experience, we have built an excellent reputation by delivering complex projects on time and budget. Our unique approach, with a large directly employed workforce, allows us to bring quality and value to a diverse range of projects, from domestic extensions and renovations to multi-million pound engineering schemes.

Our History

Our journey began in 1947 with the founding of the company by George, Lewis, and Brian. Brian's son, Rex, later took over the running of the business and oversaw some expansion. Rex was joined by his own sons, Julian and Simon, in the 90s, and retired in 2003. Since then, Julian and Simon have been at the helm, guiding the company through various projects, including the construction of The Egg for the Theatre Royal, which opened in 2005. In 2016, we relocated to new premises in Bathford, allowing us to expand our operations and better serve our clients. This move also enabled us to be closer to our main storage yard at Ashley near Box.

Apprenticeships

Throughout our history, we have recognized the importance of training the next generation of craftsmen and women. We have taken on dozens of apprentices across various trades, including carpentry and joinery, masonry, bricklaying, and decorating. We also train site managers and quantity surveyors. Sustainability

At Emery Brothers Ltd, we believe in sustainability not just for our business but also for the community. We provide well-paying steady employment to many time-served craftsmen and women from Bath and the surrounding area. We continue to invest in our workforce and community by taking on apprentices and supporting local suppliers and subcontractors. As the main contractor for the Bath Abbey Footprint Project, we have also engaged with schools, colleges, universities, local authority planning departments, and local businesses through site tours and other initiatives.
