Our History

Baskervilles Reclamation Limited, a name synonymous with quality timber and materials, has a rich history deeply ingrained in the community of Stoke-on-Trent. Established in 1916 by Mr. George Baskerville, a seasoned demolition and steeplejack contractor, the company's origins lie in the recycling of salvaged items from demolition projects. Recognizing the inherent value in these materials, Baskervilles embraced the principle of responsible resource management from the outset, a philosophy that has guided the company for over a century.

Initially operating from a small sales yard in Martin Street, Cobridge, Baskervilles steadily grew under the leadership of Mr. George Baskerville. In 1977, the company relocated to its current 1.5-acre site on Milburn Road within the Cobridge Industrial Estate. This move, spearheaded by Mr. Roy Chadwick, the nephew of George Baskerville and managing director from 1950 to 2002, marked a significant expansion for Baskervilles. The new site allowed for an increased inventory of both new and reclaimed products, further cementing the company's commitment to providing a comprehensive range of construction materials. Mr. Chadwick's dedication to customer service and responsible business practices ensured that the tradition of quality and reliability established by Mr. Baskerville was upheld and strengthened.

In 2002, the reins of the company passed to Graham Chadwick, Mr. Roy Chadwick's son, who began his journey with Baskervilles in 1978. Mr. Graham Chadwick, building upon the solid foundation laid by his predecessors, has continued to develop the business while remaining steadfast to its core values. Baskervilles continues to thrive, maintaining its reputation for exceptional product quality, competitive pricing, and unwavering customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, the company's commitment to family and tradition is evident in the involvement of Graham Chadwick's daughters in the business, marking Baskervilles' entry into its fourth generation of family ownership.
