Designing for a better tomorrow, today.
At McNally Morris Architects, we are a practicing architecture firm established in 2005 by Hugh McNally and Dominic Morris. Our expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, industrial, sports, and community and youth projects. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering high-quality Architectural services that exceed our clients' expectations.
Our Philosophy
We believe that architecture has the power to positively impact communities. Our approach is centered around creating buildings and spaces that not only function effectively but also enhance the quality of life for the people who use them. Our practice is committed to making a positive contribution to contemporary society, which drives our work. We strive to meet our social responsibility as designers of places for occupation by people and continually seek to expand our knowledge base and expertise.
Our Expertise
Our team is composed of experienced architects who have collectively worked on various projects across a range of sectors. Dominic Morris, one of our founding partners, has a special interest in sustainability and the conservation of historic buildings. He is a qualified conservation architect and holds a diploma in Conservation. Hugh McNally, the other founding partner, has a keen interest in the relationship between architecture and community. He has worked with community organizations and researches at the Institute of Irish Studies at Queen's University Belfast.
Our Projects
We have had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects, from residential homes to community centers and youth facilities. Some of our notable projects include House at Randalstown, which reached the semi-finals of the BBC Northern Ireland's House of the Year competition in 2009. Our work has been featured in various press publications, showcasing our commitment to creating innovative and sustainable designs.
Community Engagement
We are committed to engaging with our community and believe that architecture has the power to bring people together. We have been involved in various initiatives, including the "Street Society" design research office organized by Architecture at Queen's University Belfast. This one-week "live project" allowed students to work with one of our clients on a real-life project outside the University.
Innovation and Research
We actively seek to expand our knowledge and expertise in various areas, including sustainability, conservation, and community engagement. One of our notable research projects was an investigation into the relationship between autism and the built environment, which led to the publication of 'Aldo goes to Primary School', a book that explores the issues that children with autism can experience in the primary school environment.
