I began my career in the world of rugs and textiles in 1993 at Bonhams Auctioneers, where I honed my skills as a porter and junior cataloguer. Later, I moved to Phillips and Sotheby's, where I worked as a rug valuer and expert for seven years. In 2004, I decided to strike out on my own, establishing Joshua Lumley Ltd, based in Kent, England.
