Transforming Spaces, Telling Stories
At Kay Pilsbury Thomas Architects, we are an award-winning, family practice of Chartered Architects and Interior Designers with a passion for historic buildings and the stories they tell. Our studio has dedicated itself to working with old and listed buildings, and we have Accreditation in Building Conservation. Our projects vary in type, from country houses to town houses, cottages, barn conversions, manor houses, hotels, schools, and churches, to name a few. We specialise in high-quality conversions, extensions, and adaptations to historic buildings of all shapes and sizes.
Our Services
We offer a range of services, including Architecture, Interior Design, Eco Design, and RIBA Concise Professional Services. Our team of experienced and qualified designers have expertise in historic buildings and are familiar with many of the Conservation Officers and Planners in the areas we cover. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs and goals, and we take pride in delivering outstanding projects that are tailored to their unique requirements.
Our Expertise
Our team is led by Sibyl Thomas, an Architect Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC). We have an in-depth knowledge of historic buildings of all periods, understanding how they have evolved over the centuries and why they are important. This helps us find solutions around altering or extending the building without compromising on what makes it so significant. We have a network of traditional building contractors and specialist craftsmen capable of delivering results to a very high standard.
Areas We Cover
We work on projects in Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire. Our close relationships with the Local Authority and Listed Building/Conservation Officers help us understand what they are likely to accept and approve.
